Sean "Diddy" Combs was taken out of federal prison by ambulance in the early hours of Saturday morning to be treated for a head injury, TMZ reported Monday — and he was back behind bars before sunrise.
Sources at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey told TMZ an ambulance left the prison at around 1 a.m. Saturday so the 56-year-old music mogul could get treatment. Whether he was actually taken to a hospital is still unconfirmed, but sources say the injury was not life-threatening and that Combs was conscious and speaking on the way back to the prison.
How Combs got hurt is the part nobody will confirm. TMZ's own headline pointed to a fall, but the report itself does not establish how the injury happened. The Federal Bureau of Prisons does not comment on the conditions of confinement for any individual prisoner, and representatives for Combs and the prison were contacted for comment.
"The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs's life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news. The only real news is that Sean continues to serve his sentence while awaiting the court's decision on his appeal." — Combs spokesperson
A Rough Stretch Behind Bars
Combs is serving a 50-month sentence at the low-security federal prison after a jury convicted him in July 2025 on two counts of transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of the far more serious racketeering and sex-trafficking charges and fined $500,000.

The ambulance run is only the latest episode in a turbulent few weeks. Sources told NBC News that Combs had been receiving treatment other inmates never see — massages, alcohol, even a cellphone — and he was later moved into a special housing unit. His release date has also been pushed back, from January 2028 to March 2028. Over the summer, he was reportedly involved in an altercation with another inmate.
For now, prison officials have confirmed nothing about the injury itself, and Combs remains in custody at Fort Dix serving out his sentence. The original TMZ-sourced reports were shared widely on X, including by 411 Uncut and Gulf News.
