The Trump administration has unveiled America.gov, a new AI-powered "front door" for the federal government designed to let Americans access information and services from one central portal instead of navigating hundreds of separate agency websites.
The portal launched Tuesday, September 29, with a daylong showcase at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., featuring President Trump, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, and NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman.
Dr. Oz demonstrated how Americans could use the platform to sign up for Medicare. He brought a woman named Lisa onstage, who revealed her newly issued Medicare beneficiary card after spending more than a year trying to enroll. America.gov "explains what applies to Lisa's situation and guides her through the decisions," Oz said.
The platform is led by U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia, the Airbnb co-founder who heads the newly established National Design Studio. Gebbia says the goal is for Americans to search for what they need and "never go back into the maze" of agency websites.
President Trump also signed an executive order directing federal agencies to integrate their public-facing services with America.gov "as soon as possible," with the eventual goal of making anything Americans need from the federal government accessible from the platform.
