FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins are engaged.
Wilkins broke the news on Sunday, October 4, posting a black-and-white photo of the two of them smiling, her left hand up with the ring front and center. Her caption said it all: "Went and got the law involved." Patel reshared the post with a heart and a ring emoji. No location, no speech, no wedding date — just the announcement and the ring.
It's the culmination of a relationship that started, fittingly enough, by chance. The two met in the fall of 2022 at a party at country singer John Rich's house in Nashville. Patel complimented the jacket Wilkins was wearing. At the time, he was running Trump Media and living in Las Vegas; she was in Nashville trying to build a country music career. They started dating in early 2023 — long distance from the start.
Wilkins has said the meeting was unplanned. On Megyn Kelly's show, she put it simply: "We just happened to meet." What drew her to him, she said, was that "he was so, so honest. He's exactly who he is all the time." The couple has brushed off questions about their age gap the same way — unbothered.
She was by his side when he was sworn in as FBI director on February 21, 2025. After that, the relationship became a public fight. Reports surfaced that Wilkins had an FBI security detail — including agents normally assigned to a SWAT team — and that Patel had used FBI aircraft on trips that included seeing her in Nashville. Patel pushed back, saying she had received credible threats because of him, and that he reimbursed personal travel under federal rules. In November 2025, he called the attacks on her "beyond pathetic" and described her as "the woman I'm proud to call my partner in life."
Through it all, they stayed together — a little over three years now. And on Sunday, she put the ring where the world could see it.
