Rep. Harriet Hageman said the Education Department runs on about $280 billion a year, and less than 25% of it actually goes to educating students. She said the rest moves through bureaucracy, consultants, and NGOs, and she called it money churning.
Here is the part that matters. Most of that money is Pell Grants, student loans, Title I, and special education. The "hundreds of billions to Democrat-linked groups" line does not hold up. What does hold up is the smaller fight she also raised: more than $1 billion steered into DEI, race-based hiring, and equity programs instead of reading and math.
This is the government we already know. A huge budget, a story that doesn't match the books, and kids still can't read. That's why nobody cares about government anymore. People stopped listening because the money never felt like it was for them.
These four years under Trump are the turnaround. Not another speech. An actual break from the same agencies, the same grants, the same excuses. Education, spending, all of it. America gets the reset people stopped believing was even possible.
