One of India's most wanted gangsters is in American custody. Himanshu Bhau and his associate Neeraj Faridpuria are being held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Nevada, and the U.S. government's own online detainee locator lists the two men — under the names Himanshu Sigroha and Neeraj Kaushik — at the Henderson Detention Center, 18 East Basic Road in Henderson, just outside Las Vegas. Their cases are being handled by ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations office in Las Vegas, and officials identify the two locator entries as Bhau and Faridpuria.
Bhau was tracked to Las Vegas and arrested on Thursday, October 22. Haryana's Special Task Force Inspector General Simardeep Singh has confirmed that both men were detained in Las Vegas following a tip-off from the task force — Indian police passed on the intelligence, and American authorities made the arrests on U.S. soil.
Bhau's real name is Himanshu Ritoliya, from Ritoli village in the Rohtak district of Haryana. He has been the subject of an Interpol Red Notice since August 2023 and is wanted in 18 cases in India, including murder, attempted murder, extortion, intimidation and forgery — and Haryana police sources put the total number of criminal cases registered against him at 64.
His associate, Neeraj Kaushik, known as Neeraj Faridpuria, is from the Palwal district and faces more than 24 cases across Delhi, Haryana and Punjab. Faridpuria was picked up after he removed an ankle monitor — he had already been detained once earlier this year and released on bail.
Investigators say Bhau's run began early: he turned to crime at 17, escaped from a juvenile facility in Hisar in 2020, and fled India in 2022 on a fake passport, travelling through Dubai and Portugal. According to the task force, he entered the United States illegally about two years ago — and from inside America, he allegedly directed shooters back home through encrypted apps while Indian police hunted for him.
The crimes tied to his gang are high-profile. Bhau and Faridpuria claimed responsibility for the firing outside the Gurugram home of YouTuber Elvish Yadav in August 2025, and the gang has been linked to the 2024 killing inside a Burger King outlet in Delhi's Rajouri Garden. Bhau built his name as a rival of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, whose network dominates much of north India's gang warfare.
Two facts are worth stating plainly. No U.S. criminal charges against either man have been found — this is immigration custody, not an American prosecution. And neither ICE nor the FBI has issued any public statement on the arrests: reports in India crediting the FBI with the capture have not been confirmed by any U.S. authority.
India is now seeking to expedite Bhau's deportation. Removal through the immigration system is far faster than extradition under the 1997 India–U.S. treaty, which demands a lengthy court process — and there is a recent precedent: Anmol Bishnoi, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, was detained in the United States in 2024 and deported to India on November 19, 2025. What happens next rests with the immigration proceedings, including any claim Bhau makes to stay — but the locator listing is the first hard proof that a fugitive who allegedly ran a gang from American soil is finally in American hands.
