Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is weighing in after reports of a pre-dawn DHS raid at Ilhan Omar's DC-area home, saying members of Congress should not be held to a different standard from ordinary Americans.
"No one is above the law!"
Luna says that if the allegations are true, they must be addressed through the legal process. She also renewed her call for lawmakers to disclose whether they hold dual citizenship, arguing that voters deserve transparency from the people writing the nation's laws.
The raid she is answering
Federal agents searched Omar's home before dawn under a judicially authorised warrant, part of an ongoing criminal investigation whose underlying allegations have not been disclosed. Border Czar Tom Homan has confirmed the search was carried out under a warrant, and President Trump, asked about it as he left the White House on Monday, said the matter is up to the DOJ and that investigators are looking at Omar very carefully.
Omar's side
Omar has called the search a weaponisation of law enforcement against political enemies and vowed she will not be silenced. No charges against her have been announced, and the investigation's focus has not been made public.
Luna's message is clear either way: no member of Congress should be above the law, and the public deserves answers when serious allegations arise.
