The No Kings coalition, which has organized mass protests against the Trump administration, plans more than 3,000 events across the country on Saturday, Oct. 17, built around early voting rather than street protest.
Indivisible co-founder Ezra Levin told USA Today that each of the more than 3,000 actions will focus on early voting and turnout. Some participants plan to march to polling places. In St. Petersburg, Florida, organizers expect 1,000 people to gather on the beach and spell out "Go Vote" with their bodies.
Organizers call the day, branded "No Kings: Vote Early," nonpartisan and say it will focus on helping people make voting plans, check their registration and request or return absentee ballots where early in-person voting isn't available. The coalition says all events are committed to nonviolence and has asked participants not to bring weapons of any kind.
The coalition includes Indivisible, the ACLU and the 50501 movement. It grew out of the April 2025 "Hands Off" protests, the first major demonstrations of President Trump's second term, and has since staged thousands of rallies against the administration. Levin said the groups have aimed to drive massive early turnout since those first protests.
The events come less than three weeks before the Nov. 3 midterm elections, with control of both the House and the Senate at stake. Estimates of the event count vary: an independent event-mapping site listed about 2,000 registered events, while organizers put the total above 3,000.
