Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia said on MS NOW's "All In" that "the Trump presidency has failed" and that Vice President JD Vance "will go down as a footnote in that disgrace."
Speaking from Atlanta as early voting began in Georgia, Ossoff was asked by host Chris Hayes about the rhetoric Trump and Vance are using to close out the midterm campaign.
"Obviously it is bigoted and offensive, but it's also so politically feeble and weak," Ossoff said. "Forty percent of Americans are going without food or healthcare to afford gas, and they're throwing around schoolyard insults and taunts."
"The Trump presidency has failed. Donald Trump has cemented his legacy in American history as a failure and a disgrace. JD Vance will go down as a footnote in that disgrace," he said.
Ossoff urged Americans to use their power as citizens to "rebuke these abuses so decisively that no president will dare anything like this again for centuries."
Ossoff is seeking re-election against Trump-endorsed Republican Rep. Mike Collins, whom he has called a "Trump puppet." Republicans are targeting the seat as one of their top pickup opportunities. Ossoff has said he has "zero interest" in running for president.
