President Donald Trump brought his midterm message to Mobile, Alabama Friday night, urging roughly 8,000 supporters at the University of South Alabama's Mitchell Center to treat November like a referendum on his presidency.
"Can everybody just close your eyes and pretend I'm on the ballot?" Trump asked the crowd, framing the midterms as a direct vote on his administration's record.
The rally — the second stop of a month-long campaign swing for Republican congressional candidates — focused on energizing GOP turnout with one month to go before the November 3 elections. Supporters lined up hours before doors opened, filling the venue to about three-quarters capacity.
