Russian weapons violated Moldova's airspace and exploded on its territory Saturday morning, President Maia Sandu said.
Sandu said five aerial weapons — Banderol missiles and drones — crossed into Moldovan airspace in 15 minutes during the same overnight barrage that struck Kyiv. "Russia's war is dangerously reaching Moldova," she posted. "Moscow is putting lives at risk across Europe and must be stopped." Moldova's Defense Ministry said it tracked unmanned aircraft near several villages; explosions were later reported in four districts.
No casualties or damage were reported. Russia's Defense Ministry confirmed hitting targets in Kyiv and Odesa but has not addressed the Moldova claim — and Russia's ambassador to Moldova denied the weapons were of Russian origin, saying Moscow received no evidence.
