The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on Wednesday charged three Charleston County men whom Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) named in her February 2025 speech on the House floor.
SLED said John Douglas Osborne, 46, is charged with first-degree assault and battery and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct. Brendan Patrick Bryant, 53, Mace's former fiancé, is charged with voyeurism. Eric Bernard Bowman, 46, is charged with voyeurism, obstruction of justice and publishing the name of a victim of criminal sexual conduct. All three were booked into the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center, and the 9th Circuit Solicitor's Office will prosecute the case.
The men have been charged, not convicted, and are presumed innocent. They have publicly denied Mace's accusations.
The charges follow an investigation of more than a year. In her nearly hour-long speech on Feb. 10, 2025, Mace accused her ex-fiancé and three of his associates of secretly recording women, including herself, and of sexual assault. She called the men "predators" and accused state Attorney General Alan Wilson's office of failing to act, though the case was then still under SLED investigation.
A fourth man Mace named, Brian Musgrave, was not charged. He sued Mace for defamation, but a federal judge threw out the case, ruling that her statements were protected because she made them as part of her official duties. Mace is running for governor of South Carolina.
