Trump made the remarks on Tuesday, questioning how Omar's reported wealth, homes and vehicles align with a congressional salary — $174,000 a year for a rank-and-file member of the House — and her husband's reported income.

The numbers behind the fight come from Omar's own filings. Her May 2025 disclosure listed two large assets tied to her husband, political consultant Tim Mynett — Rose Lake Capital, valued between $5 million and $25 million, and the eStCru winery business, valued between $1 million and $5 million — putting the couple's reported net worth between $6 million and $30 million. In April, Omar amended her disclosures and cut the couple's reported assets to between $18,004 and $95,000; her office said the original filings had failed to account for liabilities.
The timing is not random. The comments land one day after U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro confirmed a second federal investigation into Omar — this one into her financial disclosures — and after federal agents searched Omar's Washington home on Monday in a separate criminal investigation. Trump also raised the possibility of a connection to the sprawling fraud investigations in Minnesota. As the post itself notes, his comments do not establish that Omar personally participated in or benefited from any criminal activity.
Omar has denied every allegation of wrongdoing, accused the Trump administration of targeting her for political reasons, and has said publicly that she is not a millionaire. For now, the key questions are the ones in the post: what explains the reported discrepancy between $30 million and roughly $100,000, and whether any evidence supports the allegations being circulated.
