Five people were shot late Sunday night at the BP gas station in the 2800 block of Edmondson Avenue in West Baltimore, and two of them — a man and a woman — have died.
Baltimore police responded to a ShotSpotter alert at 10:25 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, and found four people with gunshot wounds at the scene: one woman and three men. A fifth victim, a man, later arrived at a hospital on his own with gunshot wounds. The man and the woman died of their injuries; the other three victims suffered non-life-threatening wounds and are expected to survive. Police have not yet released the victims' names.
Police Commissioner Richard Worley said investigators believe two or three shooters were involved and that high-powered rifles were used. The motive is still unknown, and no one is in custody.
With the shooters still at large, police are relying on survivor interviews, witnesses, and video evidence to piece together exactly what led to the gunfire. Officers remained on the scene overnight, and the department has not released a full timeline or sequence of events beyond these initial findings — details remain limited because the investigation is ongoing and still in its early stages.
