“Breaking Bad” star Dean Norris and his wife, Bridget, have split after more than 20 years of marriage — and the break-up has been sitting in court for a year without the public knowing. Court documents that surfaced this week show Bridget filed for divorce in Riverside County last year, citing irreconcilable differences and listing January 15, 2025 as the couple’s date of separation. The two married on October 27, 2001.
In her filing, Bridget asked for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s two minor children, Zoe, 17, and Dean, 16 — they also have three adult children — along with spousal support and a division of the property built up during the marriage. Dean responded to the filing several months later, and on the available court information the divorce has not been finalized. Neither Dean nor Bridget has commented publicly on the split.
The divorce is unfolding alongside money trouble at the business the couple bought together. In 2022 they took over the historic Swing Inn Cafe in Temecula, the town where they have lived for more than 20 years, and the restaurant is now in Chapter 11 bankruptcy: its filings report gross revenue fell by roughly $1 million between 2024 and 2025, with assets of between $100,000 and $500,000 against liabilities of between $1 million and $10 million. The couple also runs the Norris Performing Arts Center.
Norris is best known as DEA agent Hank Schrader on “Breaking Bad,” the brother-in-law hunting the drug empire at the centre of the series. For the family, what happens next sits with the court: custody of the two teenagers, the support Bridget has asked for, and how a marriage of more than two decades — and the business it bought — gets divided.
