Lithonia, Georgia — Son arrested in shooting death of his father after argument
William Geter IV, 22, was arrested for murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of his father, William Geter III, 49, at a home in the 5900 block of Springfair Run on the morning of November 2, 2026. Police say the two argued before the shooting; Geter III was found with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene. Geter IV was arrested around 3 a.m. the following day and is being held in the DeKalb County Jail without bond.
