Woman charged with murder after man shot dead outside a home in Louisville's Buechel neighborhood on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Louisville Metro Police said officers responded at about 1:45 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 200 block of Derby Avenue and found a man shot outside a residence. He was taken to UofL Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police arrested 31-year-old Lindsay Kelley in connection with the shooting, and she is charged with murder. According to the arrest report reported by WDRB and WAVE, a witness saw Kelley and the man in a verbal altercation before Kelley attempted to strike him with a lawn mower, knocking him to the ground. The report said the man got up and walked toward Kelley, who produced a handgun and shot him, and then walked up to him and fired multiple rounds at point blank range. LMPD said the witness account is partially corroborated by video of the incident. The man who died has not yet been publicly identified in the solid coverage reviewed. Kelley was arraigned in court on Friday morning, October 30, where she pleaded not guilty. Her bond was set at $250,000, and she is due back in court on November 9. The charges are allegations, Kelley is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court, and the investigation remains ongoing.
