MONETT, MISSOURI, USA — Teen shot inside a house after a fight, suspect arrested and charged

An 18-year-old man was shot inside a house in Monett, Missouri, in the early hours of Friday, October 30, 2026, and a suspect was arrested a few hours later. Monett police said officers were called at about 3:00 a.m. to a shots-fired report at a house in the 500 block of Pearl Street, where two men had got into a fight that escalated and ended in gunfire. The 18-year-old was taken to Cox South hospital in Springfield in stable condition. Police said a tip led them to 22-year-old Angel Sandoval of Monett, who was arrested at his home. Capt. Scott Landreth said Sandoval is charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon, and was being held in Monett ahead of transfer to the Barry County Jail. Police said there is no ongoing threat to the community. The charges are allegations, and Sandoval is presumed innocent unless proven guilty. We are following this case and will update it again as soon as new information comes.
